This is an opportunity to gain support from people who have had similar experiences and an understanding of the problems encountered whilst supporting someone with an alcohol problem.
Sharing experiences, ideas and coping strategies can be very helpful.
Please join us for an informal gathering with free tea/coffee and biscuits.
IMPACT is an alcohol and addictions specialist and our services are offered within a warm, welcoming, friendly and non-judgemental environment and include: Confidential Counselling, Advice and Information, Group Work Education and Training and referral to other services for detoxification and residential rehabilitation. Please follow the link to IMPACT's main website. www.impactaas.co.uk
We now have a new project for people who are concerned about someone else's drinking. If you are a relative or friend of someone who is having difficulties with alcohol and would like some support for yourself IMPACT's Concerned Other's Project may be able to help you. This project can offer you: Advice and Information, one to one support & Counselling, group work, drop ins, workshops and opportunities to get some breathing space and time for relaxation. We can also make referrals to other services including a referral for a full Carer's Assessment, if appropriate.
At times on this website you may see the term carer used. When we use this term we are referring to people who are caring for, concerned about or affected by someone else's drinking.
